Generalities Bonsai Ficus Ginseng with terracotta pot:

The bonsai ficus ginseng is a hugely popular species of tree. The reason for their wide diffusion resides in the fact that they can tolerate low light conditions, an excess of irrigation and a series of mistakes made especially by beginners. For these reasons, it is the recommended tree when you want to approach the world of bonsai. Another feature that makes ficus ginseng popular is the ability of the superficial roots to develop around the lower branches, an excellent practice for those who intend to develop the "bonsai on rock" style. Finally, it is known to have a fairly robust trunk, with the color ranging from gray to reddish. The bonsai ficus ginseng is native to Malaysia, Taiwan and other East Asian countries, the plant is an excellent choice for bonsai tree growers. It is known as Taiwan Ficus or Banyan Fig, the bonsai ficus ginseng is characterized by the shape of its strong roots and its small stems, which alternate with dark green leaves that grow along the stem and which are much more oval than the Ficus Benjamin .

Cultivation and Care Bonsai Ficus Ginseng with Terracotta Pot:

Ficus ginseng is a tropical tree: some species grow in Florida, where temperatures are very high. In summer it is possible to place the bonsai just outside the window, however it is recommended to put it back in the house as soon as it falls into the sun. During the cold months it is recommended to keep the bonsai in a shallow container. The bonsai ficus ginseng does not require particular attention as regards watering, it is sufficient to check frequently that the soil is not too dry. To keep it in perfect health just check that the soil is always slightly damp. The best time to prune the plant is in the spring, as soon as the plant begins the new growing season. Since this tree loves warm seasons, repotting should take place in late spring, every 3 or 4 years. Whenever this particular operation is performed, it is always recommended to prune the roots, not cutting more than 1/3 of the root system.
