Petunia has long been appreciated as ornamental plant, for the beauty of its flowers, tubular in shape and dai bright colors ranging from purple, to pink, to yellow and white, in numerous different shades.
Petunia is a plant herbaceous annual belonging to the Solanaceae family native to South America. It is composed of leaves with very thin light green hair and has a compact and luxuriant growth.
CARE
Choose a place for Potunia particularly sunny, it is good that the plant can benefit from sunlight for at least 6 hours a day, on the contrary in a particularly shady place it could cause poor flowering. This plant is unable to tolerate too cold temperatures, in winter take it to the shelter to prevent damage. Its structure is characterized by rather thin stems and therefore it is not able to withstand the winter winds.
Wet your Potunie at least once every 2 or 3 days in the summer, always check that the soil is not already wet, in this case wait. If you overdo it with too much water you risk causing i water stagnation, the main cause of root asphyxiation and consequent rot, one of the main causes of death of Potunia. Fertilize it from March to September by fertilizing the plant every 15 or 20 days, its flowering will be even longer and more luxuriant.
CURIOSITY'
It is not a mistake, as one might immediately think. In reality, Surifinie, Petunie and Potunie are variants of the same Petunia genus selected following the hybridization work carried out by specialists in the floricultural sector. Until about twenty years ago only the Petunias were known, later the Surfinias and then the Potunias also arrived.
