CELOSIA VASE 12 cm

Celosia argentea is a fascinating annual plant belonging to the Amaranthaceae family. With its compact size (it reaches about 30-40 cm in height), it is famous for its spectacular and soft velvety spike-shaped inflorescences, with bright and flaming colors. It is the ideal plant to grow in pots to decorate balconies, terraces and windowsills during the summer!

🌾 Prolonged Flowering: Produces velvety, lively flowers from May through autumn (May-October/November in milder climates).

🪴 Perfect for Pot and Balcony: Despite its tropical origins (Asia and Central America), it is perfectly suited to growing in pots and planters.

💐 Decorative Dried Flowers: Its inflorescences retain their bright color for a long time, making them ideal for drying and using in flower arrangements.

☀️ EXPOSURE AND TEMPERATURE

⛅ Exposure: It prefers bright areas, in partial shade or in light sun. During the central hours of very hot summers, it is advisable to shade it or move it to a place sheltered from direct sun.

🌡️ Temperature: The ideal growing temperature is between 20 °C and 28 °C. It suffers from extreme temperatures above 40 °C and ends its seasonal vegetative cycle when temperatures drop below 10 °C.

💨 Wind Resistance: It tolerates the wind well, but must be protected from the salty winds of coastal areas.

🪴 SOIL AND DRAINAGE

🪨 Type of Soil: It requires a light, fertile and very well-drained soil, ideally based on peat and sand in equal parts to avoid waterlogging.

💧 WATERING AND HUMIDITY

💧 Watering: Water moderately but regularly throughout the hot season, keeping the soil slightly moist and avoiding stagnation in the saucer.

💨 Ambient Humidity: On hotter and drier summer days, lightly mist the leaves to increase the surrounding humidity.

🧪 FERTILIZATION AND MAINTENANCE

🧪 Fertilization: From May to early autumn, administer a liquid fertilizer for flowering plants diluted in irrigation water every 15 days.

✂️ Cleaning and Stimulating Flowering: Regularly remove withered flowers and dried parts to stimulate the birth of new stems and prolong flowering.
